Yes, you read it right! Popular image and video sharing platform, Instagram, will soon allow its users to share their Instagram Stories directly on WhatsApp status.
In San Francisco, Facebook is running a small test to let users post their Instagram Stories directly to WhatsApp Status.
In October 2017, Facebook had enhanced the usage and flexibility of Instagram Stories to its website. And now it is planning to allow us to share insta stories directly on Whatsapp.
On Wednesday TechCrunch reported, “An Instagram Story posted as a WhatsApp Status also becomes encrypted like the rest of WhatsApp.”
A spokesperson from the company told TechCrunch,”We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you.”
As of last November there were more than 300 million daily active users of Instagram Stories.
Adding this feature to share on WhatsApp will generate more traffic, especially in countries where WhatsApp has a huge popularity and outstripping usage of Facebook or its Messenger app.
The features, which are the clones of rival app Snapchat, now boast numbers almost twice the size of Snapchat that has 173 million daily active users.
Facebook has also rolled out a feature which lets users share ‘Instagram Stories‘ directly to ‘Facebook Stories‘.
This feature to directly post Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories is available for US users and will be officially rolled out for everyone around the world.
While let’s wait for both the features to roll out in India..
