So let’s say you’re in 12th and looking for career options you can pursue after you’ve passed 12th,then Here we’re with all the career options you can opt for:

For PCM students:

  1. Architecture

Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) – Five years course.

Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with high percentile

Admission Procedure: National Level entrance test such as IIT-JEE, GATE, UPSEE, BITSAT and State level or entrance test.

2. Merchant Navy

Higher National Diploma  (HND) Nautical Science or Marine Engineering (1 year course).

Bachelor of Science in Nautical Technology  (3 years training at Institute + 1 year at Sea).

Bachelor of Technology in Naval Architecture and Ship Building.

Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with high percentile.

Admission procedure: The All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test (AIMNET) , required the vision (eyesight) and health standards.

3. Commercial Pilot

Commercial pilot training from Aviation Institutes in India.

BSc in Aviation Sciences.

Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with high percentile.

Admission procedure: Admission is based on an all-India written test, Pilot Aptitude Test (WOMBAT) and an interview. Required good eyesight and  health.

4. National Defense Services-Indian Navy Officer, Indian Air Force 

The NDA offers only a full-time, residential undergraduate program. Cadets are awarded a Baccalaureate degree (a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Technology) after 3 years of study. Cadets have a choice of two streams of study. The Science stream offers studies in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science. The Humanities (Liberal Arts) stream offers studies in History, Economics, Political Science, Geography and Language.

Eligibility: 12ths PCM, unmarried Indian citizens.

Admission procedure: National level NDA exam.

5. Railway Apprentice Exam

The selected candidates get trained for four years, not just in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering; they are also groomed to take up leadership positions in the Indian Railways as Class 1 officers.

Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with first class

Admission Procedure: All India Special Railway Apprentice Exam by UPSC.

6. Engineering

Engineering is one of the sought after career by science students. Graduate course is of the four years.

Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with high percentile.

Admission procedure: National Level entrance test such as IIT-JEE, GATE, UPSEE, BITSAT and State level or entrance test.

7Bachelor of Science

BSc in physics, chemistry, maths, astronomy, forensic Science, geology, statistics , industrial chemistry, nautical science, home science, nutrition, clothing and textile, extension and communication, environmental science, Human Development and Family studies (BSc),  fashion design, fashion technology etc.

Eligibility: 12th Science PCM with minimum 55 %percentile

Admission procedure: Merit based admission, few institutes conduct entrance exam.

For commerce students:

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)

This is the most popular course that maximum students pursue after completing their 12th commerce. It is a general degree course that continues for a period of 3 years. The level of difficulty under these courses is not very high, students can easily get admission under this course from any college. Under this, students get to study subjects like Economics, Marketing, Corporate Accounting, Law, Business Environment etc.

Bachelor of Economics

This is another important and fruitful option available to students after class 12th commerce. Under this course, students get exposure to numerous economic concepts, analytical methods, and studies. All those students having interest in economics may take this course. It is best for those who want to gain specialization in this field. The duration of the course is for 3 years. Students get to study subjects like Agricultural Economics, Macro Economics, Indian Economics, International Trade, etc.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

BBA is yet another popular option amongst students after their 12th commerce. The course last for 3 years where students gain knowledge about business and its administration. Students are exposed to numerous business aspects and methodologies. This is best for those who are business minded and further want to take their business to higher levels.

Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB)

After 12th commerce LLB is one of the good options which has great scope ahead for all the students. The course is governed by The Bar Council of India (BCI). Chartered Accountancy (CA)

This is a professional level course which is administered by a professional body The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The level of difficulty under this course is much higher as compared to other bachelor courses. After clearing this course a student becomes a professional known as CA which might fetch them higher returns. Students need to study subjects like Taxation, Law, Auditing, Costing etc. The course is divided into different levels. Students need to clear all in order to be called as CA.

Company Secretary (CS)

The students who have interest in Law and theoretical subjects can opt for CS as a career option after class 12 commerce. It is also considered as a professional level course which is conducted by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI). This course involves different levels like that of CA. By undergoing this course, students understand the functioning and legal compliance relating to companies.

Cost and Management Accountant (CMA)

This is yet another professional level course conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India. The course is divided into different levels same as CA and CS. Under this students need to study and gain knowledge relating to Costing, Planning, Controlling and different aspects related to Management Accounting.

 

Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

All the students who have an interest in areas like Personal finance, wealth management, insurance planning, and mutual fund investing etc can pursue this course. This course is governed and conducted by Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB).

 

Journalism and Mass Communication

Students can also opt for this career option where they will gain the knowledge regarding current economic trends in the country. The course duration is of three years which can be easily pursued from any college offering this course. Candidates after completing this course can easily get jobs in numerous media houses, both print as well as digital media.

Hotel Management Courses

Students can also go for various Hotel Management courses. This course may vary for a time frame of 3 to 5 years, after which it fetches good returns in Hotel Industry. This course is good for all those students who have interest in the Hospitality sector. The course offers great job opportunities to students both in the government sector as well as private sector.

Bachelor in Statistics

This is yet another course available for students after 12th commerce. All the students having interest in Mathematics and Statistics may pursue this course. The course duration is of 3 years. Students gain knowledge regarding probability, statistical methods, permutations etc.
